First Microscope Video

The bio-microscope is designed for looking at living organisms. While still images are sufficient for the microscopes sold to AMD and Samsung, our life science university customers need to be able to follow the evolution in time of their samples.

To satisfy the need to follow a sample through time, I have written software to generate video files which will be populated by images from the microscope.

As I don’t have a live sample handy, I have animated the XY stage of the microscope to shift the sample between frames. This creates a motion to view in the video and proves I am not using the same image repeatedly.

As the camera resolution is greater than most computer screens can handle, I have used an online tool to cut down the height of the video to fit within a Full High Definition screen (1920×1080).
